Nations to Watch means that any player with fut 23

Nations to Watch means that any player with an Ones to Watch card whose country is participating within this year's World Cup will receive a one-off in-form upgrade if their team wins a game during the tournament. The Erlings are having a difficult time on the eve of this tournament, it seems because Norway is not participating FIFA 23 coins. ('Tough times for Erling' is not something we expect to write on many other occasions this year/decade/millennium.)

And, even better, Nations to Watch players don't even have to be selected as a member of their national team to receive the upgrade, so in the event that Gabriel Jesus somehow doesn't make the Brazil squad and his countrymen score a win out in Qatar then the Arsenal hitman still gets an additional +1.

Finally, it is important to note the fact that Ones to Watch players do not receive upgrades based on other promo cards. If Tyler Adams gets some sort of wild 90+ card in April for a new promo called Factsmashers or something the case may be, his OTW won't be upgraded as a result. (Sorry Tyler. If this makes you feel any better, you are in virtually everyone's preorder OTW Pack.)

The weird transfer market pattern meant that it was not always practical or inexpensive to include top promo players to a team, even within a couple of days of them releasing. That may yet prove to be the case with FIFA 23, but for this moment, the most popular Ones to Watch players are likely cost you a substantial premium buy FUT 23 coins. In the event that they've received no improvements at all and are not receiving any upgrades, it's hard to justify spending any money on them.
