Expedition NPC Overview
Currently, there are four Expedition NPCs, each with a specialized role in Path of Exile 2 Currency crafting and trading:
Dannig: Exchanges Expedition currency for other NPC currencies.
Gwennen: Sells and crafts weapons.
Tujen: Sells and crafts jewelry.
Rog: Sells and crafts armor.
Unlike traditional deterministic crafting, these NPCs provide randomized upgrade options. Each step allows for rerolls, additions, or extractions, giving players the ability to strategically craft items while controlling risk and reward.
Expedition Crafting Options Explained
When crafting through Expedition vendors, you may encounter options such as:
Add a single Prefix or Suffix
Upgrade a Magic item to Rare
Fill all empty Prefixes and Suffixes
Reroll all Prefixes or all Suffixes
Reroll modifier values (similar to Divine Orbs)
Remove the lowest-tier modifier (previewed beforehand)
Remove all Prefixes or all Suffixes
Players can skip options, but skipping prevents skipping the next step. Use caution when deciding whether to bypass a crafting choice, as each decision impacts the outcome.
General Crafting Tips:
If an item appears weak after a few crafting steps, extract it and vendor it immediately.
Protect strong Prefixes or Suffixes while rerolling weaker ones.
Rare items with 4-5 excellent modifiers are always worth extracting.
Consider adding Sockets, Quality (for Energy Shield bases), or buy POE 2 Orb of Alchemy Vaal Orbs to boost item value.
