ARC Raiders Frozen Trail Details With U4N

Nexon has revealed that ARC Raiders will receive its biggest update of the year when Frozen Trail arrives on October 8. The PvPvE extraction adventure is preparing a major expansion that combines a new snowy region, tougher ARC encounters, additional progression options, and more ways to customize weapons. For players who enjoy gathering resources and surviving dangerous expeditions, the update also creates new reasons to explore beyond familiar areas. ARC Raiders Coins may remain useful for players managing their broader in-game plans, but Frozen Trail puts much of its attention on fresh gameplay systems and exploration. Ahead of launch, Nexon released a First Look video that introduces the new environment, enemies, weapons, gear, and other features coming with the update. The overall design suggests that Frozen Trail is intended to make each expedition feel more varied while giving experienced Raiders new objectives to pursue.

Pendola Pass Changes Exploration

The centerpiece of Frozen Trail is Pendola Pass, a snow-covered region located beyond the northern mountains of the Rust Belt. The area contains an old Italian village and a transport hub connected to the Exodus Project, giving the new map both environmental variety and narrative context. Its layout is designed around broad open spaces, tight routes, and significant changes in elevation. These different terrain types can influence how players move through the region and approach encounters. Another notable landmark is the wreckage of Emperor, a giant ARC that has fallen somewhere across Pendola Pass. Players will be able to explore the remains while dealing with the dangerous conditions surrounding them. A severe cold event called Flash Freeze can also occur during exploration, adding another environmental challenge to expeditions. Instead of simply providing a larger play area, Pendola Pass appears designed to make movement, positioning, and awareness important parts of survival.

The Frigate Adds High Risk

Frozen Trail also introduces a more demanding activity centered around a massive ARC vessel known as the Frigate. Players entering this location will need to work through puzzles and confront enemies before reaching the valuable rewards inside. The activity adds another layer to the extraction experience because Raiders must balance the potential value of high-tier loot against the dangers encountered along the way. Three new ARC enemies will further expand combat possibilities. Bully, Skulker, and Hydra each have distinct traits, creating different types of threats during encounters. Their addition should encourage players to adjust their approach rather than relying on a single combat routine. Alongside these enemies, two new weapons provide additional options for dealing with hostile situations. The update also introduces a grappling hook, giving Raiders a new movement tool that could be especially useful in an environment filled with elevation changes and narrow passages.

Progression Gets More Depth

The new Outpost expands Raider progression and customization, while the Research Station supports higher-tier weapon modifications. These additions give players more reasons to develop their characters and equipment between expeditions. Frozen Trail also includes a revamped skill tree, which further changes how progression can be managed. A camera provides an in-game photography feature, while a new musical instrument adds a more relaxed activity outside the usual cycle of combat and extraction. Together, these systems make the update broader than a simple map expansion. They offer additional ways to interact with the world and personalize the Raider experience. Players who enjoy experimenting with equipment can explore the new modification opportunities, while those who prefer exploration can spend time discovering the snowy region and its landmarks. The combination of combat, progression, movement, and customization gives Frozen Trail several different entry points for returning players.

Limited PvE Testing Begins

Nexon will also test PvE matchmaking for eight days, running from October 13 through October 20. During this limited test, players can choose between the established PvPvE experience and a PvE option where player attacks are restricted. The PvE environment is designed to let Raiders concentrate more heavily on ARC enemies, exploration, and cooperation with other players. Nexon and Embark Studios plan to collect gameplay data and player feedback throughout the test before deciding whether PvE matchmaking should become a permanent feature. Players interested in the broader item economy can also keep an eye on cheap ARC Coins as they prepare for different aspects of their gameplay experience. More importantly, Frozen Trail gives the community a substantial collection of new content to explore, from Pendola Pass and the Frigate to new enemies, weapons, movement tools, and progression systems. The October update could therefore mark a significant new chapter for Raiders looking for fresh challenges.
