Sunset Beach returns to The City in NBA 2K27 Season 2, bringing back its coastal courts alongside GOAT Builds and a shared Level 1-40 reward track. Season 2 started October 16, 2026; the event status below reflects the October 22 snapshot. Rather than making NBA 2K27 MT your first priority, check the active events and level rewards before choosing your next session.
Check Sunset Beach and the active City events first
The City's Events menu is the place to confirm individual activity times and requirements. Sunset Beach's return does not establish a universal start time for every Season 2 activity, so check the listing for the event you actually want to enter.
As of October 22, The Long Night is running, with a scheduled window of October 20 through November 1. Poseidon's Reef ran October 16-18 and has already ended in that snapshot. Do not build your session around an expired listing or assume that every seasonal activity remains available throughout the season.
Update 2.0 arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, while PC and Nintendo Switch 2 were scheduled to receive their update shortly before Season 2. A missing seasonal track is a reason to check for an available update before spending time playing toward the wrong screen.
Choose your reward targets before earning XP
The shared season track advances through XP earned in The City, MyCAREER, and MyTEAM. Pick a mode you can complete consistently rather than switching activities without checking your progress.
Crew Divisions offer Double Crew XP and a 25% REP boost during the launch period. Those are specifically Crew XP and REP benefits, not a stated doubling of shared season-track XP. A squad makes this route worth checking, but confirm that the boost is still available before organizing a session around it.
Install any available game update, return to the main menu, then enter The City and open Season Rewards.
Confirm that the screen displays the Season 2 track and its reward milestones. That is your visible check that you are viewing the correct season.
Choose a City, MyCAREER, or MyTEAM activity you can finish reliably, or select Crew Divisions with your squad.
After gaining levels, return to Season Rewards and collect the unlocked rewards shown there.
Before joining a limited-time activity, open The City's Events menu and read its schedule and entry requirements.
MyTEAM also has Pixel Cut Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the Premier Exchange. That is a separate route from the Level 40 reward, so inspect its requirements rather than assuming the season climb awards both cards.
Check GOAT Build restrictions before committing resources
GOAT Builds are MyPLAYER templates that exceed the usual Builder's physical and attribute caps, making their fixed attributes especially important before you commit resources. Their signature animations and player attributes are fixed; Badges, Cap Breakers, and Takeovers remain customizable.
The GOAT Builds path includes Penny Hardaway, Gilbert Arenas, Klay Thompson, Carmelo Anthony, Andrei Kirilenko, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Howard. Choose around the role you need, then inspect the template details instead of assuming you can reshape its core attributes later.
Other templates require different progression: Elite V REP unlocks Ray Allen and Hakeem Olajuwon, Elite VIII unlocks Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan, and Legend I unlocks LeBron James. Lifetime Challenges unlock Anthony Edwards at 300 completed and Wilt Chamberlain at 350. Reaching a season level does not replace those separate requirements.
The Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass add premium rewards; Hall of Fame includes Pro Pass rewards, 10 level skips, and a 15% seasonal XP boost. Inspect the displayed track before purchasing, especially if your target is already on the free MyCAREER track. Season Pass progress resets at season end, but that does not establish that your MyPLAYER or MyTEAM collection disappears.
Before comparing cheap 2K MT offers, open The City's Season Rewards screen, collect anything already unlocked, and choose your next milestone. Then check Events for an activity whose timing fits your session.
