The wait for Black Ops 7 Season 1 felt like it dragged on forever, but now that it is here, the game is packed with stuff to do and try, especially if you have been keeping an eye on the CoD BO7 Bot Lobby scene and new meta talk. Whether you are no-lifing multiplayer, dropping into Warzone, or just chilling in Zombies, there is a ton going on, but most players are locked in on one thing: new guns. And the Maddox RFB turning up in the Battle Pass is a big nostalgia hit if you played a lot of Black Ops 4 or messed around with it in COD Mobile.
How To Unlock The Maddox RFB
You do not get the Maddox for free just by logging in. It sits on Page 6 of the Battle Pass as the High-Value Target reward, and the layout does not let you rush straight to it. You have to clear the four smaller items on that page first, spending your tokens one by one before the game lets you grab the rifle. It sounds a bit long, but XP flows in from pretty much everything you do. If you are bouncing between modes, playing your normal sessions in Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies, you will burn through those early tiers without really thinking about it.
First Impressions When You Use It
Once the Maddox RFB finally drops into your loadouts, you see why people have been hyping it up again. It is a full-auto assault rifle that just feels built for players who like to push fights instead of sitting back. The fire rate is quick enough that you feel confident taking on more than one enemy at a time, and the base mag size is big enough that you are not reloading after every single gunfight. Recoil is there, but it is not wild, so you can stay on target if you put in a bit of time with it. Even in its stock form it is totally usable, but after a few levels you start to feel like it can hang with the top meta picks.
The Attachments That Really Matter
The gun really opens up when you start unlocking attachments, and one in particular stands out: Extended Mag I. When you slap that on, your mag jumps up to 50 rounds, and the wild part is there is no real penalty tied to it. No slow ADS hit that ruins your snap, no weird handling downside that makes the gun feel clunky. In a game where almost every attachment seems to trade one stat for another, getting a straight buff like this is huge. With 50 rounds and that fast fire rate, the Maddox suddenly feels perfect for sprinting around mid-range lanes, cleaning up multiple players, and even stretching out to slightly longer sightlines if you have learned to control the bounce.
Why It Is Worth Grinding This Season
If you keep pushing through the Battle Pass, Page 14 throws in a Maddox Blueprint that gives the gun a different look without changing what makes it strong, which is a nice little bonus if you are tired of default skins. For players who like testing builds, chasing camos, or just stomping in public lobbies, the Maddox RFB fits right into that sweet spot of being powerful but still fun to use. If you are already putting time into matches or checking out BO7 Bot Lobbies to warm up, putting some focus on unlocking and leveling this rifle is one of the better calls you can make in Season 1.
