If you have been pushing hard in Diablo 4 Season 8, you have probably hit that point where you are stuck waiting on a Betrayer's Husk drop before you can move your build any further, and it is the kind of item that quietly decides whether you are really in the race for top-end loot or not, in the same way people who like buy game currency or items in EZNPC try to keep their gear progression smooth.
Triggering Belial's Ambush Consistently
The most reliable way to farm husks right now is still Belial's ambush version, not the standard fight in Palace of the Deceiver. You have to open hoards from other Lair Bosses while you are on Torment 1 or higher, then just accept that it is an RNG grind. Most runs he will not show, but when that 10–20% ambush finally hits, you usually walk away with 2–4 husks and it suddenly feels worth the time.
It is not really about one crazy lucky run either. What works better is setting up a loop with Greater Lair Bosses. They seem to spawn Belial a bit more often, or at least it feels that way when you chain them. If your route through places like Kehjistan or Scosglen averages around 10–15 minutes per cycle, you are in a good spot. If you are creeping up to 20 minutes or more, that is usually a sign you should drop the difficulty a notch or sharpen your build so you are not stuck clearing every pack slowly.
Paladin Judgment Setup For Fast Clears
If you rolled the new Paladin, the Judgment build almost feels like cheating for this kind of farming. You are basically killing things just by walking past them. Holy Light Aura stacks Judgment while you move, and everything nearby slowly melts without you spamming buttons. Once you equip Dawnfire to flip the aura into something that actually hurts and add Griswold's Opus so the explosions pop elites too, the screen starts clearing itself.
Seal of the Second Trumpet on top of that turns the build into a proper cruise-control setup. You dash from hoard to hoard, barely stopping, and Belial's ambush phases become the only time you even think about positioning. It is not the flashiest playstyle, but when your goal is stacking husks fast for Belial's main fight, speed and low effort beat fancy rotations every time.
Using Seasonal Events And Extra Sources
The Season 8 event, Apparition Incursion, is also worth working into your routine so you do not burn out on lairs. You fill a bar just by killing apparitions, sometimes get surprise boss spawns, and once in a while Belial shows up there too. It runs a lot smoother in a group, so it is worth hopping into public instances during busy hours. While you are doing your normal grind for mats, Whisper Caches can randomly spit out husks as well, not something you can rely on, but it is a nice side benefit if you are already farming Grim Favors.
Making The Most Of Your Husks
Once you have a decent stack of Betrayer's Husks, do not sit on them forever. Head into the Palace of the Deceiver and focus on clean, fast Belial kills so you are not wasting attempts. You do not need a special key to trigger him there, but you must have at least two husks ready for the post-fight chest or you have basically burned the run for nothing. Players who line up their route, dial in a fast build, and treat husks like a currency feeding that chest get way more shots at ancestral uniques and mythics, and if you combine that with smart use of services like Diablo 4 boosting, you stay a step ahead instead of always trying to catch up.
