There's not much mystery around today's Golden Blitz, but the timing still catches people out. July 23 is the last day to trade Shutdown from Set 17 and Lenny Leonard from Set 18. If you're also keeping an eye on the Monopoly Go Partners Event, it's worth sorting your sticker needs before you sink dice into another goal. The in-game timer is the one that matters, since the closing hour can look different depending on where you play. Once that timer disappears, both gold stickers go back to being locked.
Shutdown and Lenny Leonard are the only choices today
That's the bit some players miss. Golden Blitz doesn't open the whole gold album; it only lets the featured pair move between accounts. Shutdown and Lenny Leonard won the community vote over Hank Scorpio from Set 20 and Mr. Sparkle from Set 21, so those other cards are still off the table for now. This is the fifth confirmed window of the season, following Blinky and Sad Schmuck on June 28-29, Obviously Grilled and More Coffee on July 4-5, Kent Brockman and Pickled Eggs on July 12-13, then Homer's Hoagie and Northern Lights on July 19-20. The recent picks have leaned into later sets, sure, but I wouldn't read too much into that. The next pair could go in a totally different direction.
Trade for the page you need, not the number that looks nicest
A lot of people get stuck arguing over stars while the clock runs down. I've done it too. But if Lenny Leonard finishes Set 18, it may be smarter to give up a card you'd normally hold onto. A completed set gives you dice and keeps the album moving. An extra sticker sitting in your collection doesn't do much by itself. Start with one clear message: say what you need, what you can send, and whether you want the protected exchange option. It saves a surprising amount of back-and-forth. Also, don't promise the same spare to three different people. Golden Blitz normally gives five gold sends, and those disappear fast when friends start asking for help. Do your own key trade first, then decide what you can spare.
Sticker Boom is also scheduled for July 23, though it serves a different purpose. It can increase what you pull from qualifying packs, while Golden Blitz only changes which two gold stickers can be traded. If you've got a big pack waiting, check both timers before opening it. Still, don't hold up an agreed exchange just because you're hoping a pack solves everything. Near the last stretch, a certain trade is usually better than a maybe. Players who want to buy Monopoly Go Partners Event support should keep their sticker plans simple too, because dice and partner progress feel more useful when an unfinished set isn't hanging over the account.
