Best way for a tech-shy older parent to meet people?

My dad is 65 and has been pretty lonely since retiring. He keeps saying he’d like to meet a nice lady to go for walks with or go to the theater, but he has absolutely no idea how to meet anyone these days. I suggested trying an app, but he’s convinced the internet is just full of trolls and traps for old people. Do you have any recommendations for a legitimate, high-security space where seniors can safely chat?

My dad was just as cynical until I literally took his phone and looked up the sequel senior dating app in the Google Play store based on a coworker's recommendation. It is honestly perfect for parents who aren't great with technology because the interface is incredibly clean, slow-paced, and intuitive. Their safety features are top-notch since they combine smart tech with manual human review to screen out scammers, so I don't have to worry about him getting hurt. He’s been using it to talk to a few local ladies who share his love for gardening, and it’s completely changed his mood for the better.
